About

My name is Katie. I have an amazing daughter, a wonderful husband, the cutest dog in the world, and I’m frequently tired. I work full-time, devote myself to my family when I’m not at work, and someday imagine I’ll get a good nights sleep (but that won’t be tomorrow).

I started this blog after some encouragement from friends who thought it would be worth sharing some of the things I’ve experienced regarding breastfeeding difficulties. The struggles I faced often left me feeling alone in a world where no one talks about the the hard parts and the path to success. I remember thinking how great it would have been if there was just one situation or person I could connect with that had been there, but it’s hard to come by. Breastfeeding and what it’s taken from me, and given to me, now feels like part of my identity. If anyone can else can relate to or find a post to resonate with about how they’re thinking or feeling, then I’m glad I put it out there.

On top of the struggles with nursing, I also have the child that wakes frequently at night, who the doctor has called spirited, and without a doubt has my fire and personality. Eventually breastfeeding will come to an end but after that I should be left with the wild ride that is toddlerhood and beyond.

So join along as I recount the breastfeeding highs and lows and the work it took to make it work. My goal is to post once a week on Saturday morning; feel free to read along while nursing that cute little baby in your arms.
